I'm trying to decide what I want to do. I've been a journalism major for a year and a half. I have no intentions on becoming a reporter or anything like that, I would rather go into public relations. And, I can do that with my journalism major. But, I think I might want to be an elementary teacher. I am a very good student, I have a cumulative GPA of 3.7. I have been stressing out a lot about this. I like some part of my journalism major but others aspects of it I hate with a passion. Also, as am worried about if I change my major I will have wasted a whole year and half. I just don't know what to do. Should I suck it up and deal with my bachelors Journalism major or change into Education. I will eventually make my own decision I just want to hear your opinions. What is your advice? Please tell me your feelings. Thanks I plan on doing a 4 year degree. I am already enrolled in a 4 year journalism degree I was wondering if it would be wiser to enter a 4 year education program to teach elementary school.

It whatever you think its easier for you and you think you can handle... here are some options and the reason on the two careers. Early Childhood Education: You will need to teach these young children to be calm cause they are very hyperactive and you need to try to get their attention to teach them then dealing with the naughty ones Journalism: You will have a lot of writing to do and spending a lot of you're time writing and being creative and meeting deadlines are there no chances for you to have another chance and won't get to become a famous journalism in about a year. So pick whatever you like but mostly being a "Journalist" its funner and harder and being creative ! good luck ! ![]()

Early Childhood only certifies you for pre-school, maybe kindergarten if you're lucky. if you want to teach elementary you need a four year education degree.

It depends on which one you like better and you will have more fun at.No you would not have wasted a year if you want to be a teacher use it to help each of Your students how to write good grammar and spelling skills.A lot of my teachers in the past had majors for both and it was helpful to them.Go where ever your heart tells you to go.Teachers are more in demand though
